Broderne Ost: Magnus og Emils eventyr i Modena

Broderne Ost: Magnus and Emil's adventure in Modena

In the second season of the popular Danish TV show Broderne Ost, brothers Magnus and Emil Millang return to explore the world in search of unique and unforgettable experiences. The show, where Magnus acts as a mentor to his younger brother Emil, is a mix of travel, culture, and gastronomy, all infused with their characteristic Danish humor. Magnus is constantly trying to teach Emil how to "live life to the fullest," and together they set off on adventures to enjoy life as true bon vivants.

For who does not know, Magnus Millang is one of Denmark’s most well-known comedians. He gained notoriety through his participation in various film and television productions and has also collaborated with his brother Emil on several projects. Magnus is known for his sophisticated and sarcastic humor, making every situation entertaining. Besides his role in Broderne Ost, Magnus has starred in films such as Klovn Forever and Druk (the Oscar-winning international film, known internationally as Another round), where he has demonstrated his ability to seamlessly transition between comedy and drama. Emil Millang, the younger brother, is equally talented and versatile. He started his career as a director and comedy actor before joining Broderne Ost. Emil brings a fresh and playful energy to the show, often portraying the more curious and naïve character, which makes their situations even more humorous.

In one of the most memorable episodes of season 2, the brothers visit Italy, making a stop in Modena, a city renowned for its culinary excellence. Emil plans an "apple raid," but here’s where the comedy kicks in: Magnus hates apples. This contrast becomes the driving force of their adventure, as Magnus looks for something far more satisfying – an epic Parmesan cheese.

Joined by Lars Ranthe, the brothers embark on a quest for the “epic Parmesan,” a piece of Parmigiano Reggiano that Magnus desperately wants. Their culinary journey leads them to discover some of Modena’s best-kept secrets, including the world-famous Balsamic Vinegar of Modena.

One of the highlights of the episode is their visit to Acetaia Sereni, where they meet the owners and learn the secrets behind the production of high-quality balsamic vinegar. They are introduced to the centuries-old tradition that makes Modena’s balsamic vinegar a top-quality product, crafted with meticulous attention to detail.

Together, the two brothers form an irresistible duo, attracting a broad audience with their natural chemistry and their ability to tell stories filled with irony and cultural exploration. You can watch the episode on TV2 here.

If, after watching the episode, you’d like to try the renowned products from Acetaia Sereni yourself, you can find them here. Explore a selection of traditional balsamic vinegar and other delights from Modena like Parmigiano Reggiano or italian charcuterie.
